Death Note
“The Bells” - L contemplates his life and the hopeless situation before him. Are those church bells he keeps hearing real? Or are they just a figment of his imagination, a fragment from his past – an illusion, like so many other things have been for him lately? His thoughts before, during, and after a pivotal moment in the Death Note story (I’m going by the anime).
“The Encounter” - Light, full-time top student and part-time notorious killer, meets the eccentric, flashbulb-eyed L for the first time, first at the exam hall and then at the entrance ceremony for Toudai. My take on Light’s initial reaction to L, what was going through his mind when L revealed himself, Light’s psychological make-up, and so on. (also follows the anime)

“From Ryou’s Side” - Ever since he was given the Millennium Ring by his father, strange things have always happened to Ryou Bakura. His friends fell comatose while playing games with him. A voice began speaking to him. He lost consciousness and woke up only to find himself somewhere else, as a different person. He came to be possessed by the mysterious, merciless and power-hungry Spirit of the Ring. Even after the Ring and its Spirit is permanently banished from existence, Bakura still feels affected by the traumatic memories of those days…. (Incomplete)

“Nameless” - Before he met Ike and joined the Greil Mercenaries, just how was Soren living and surviving on his own? Practically mute and unwilling to speak or get close to anyone, I imagine him as a nameless, young rogue who uses his magical talents to threaten and steal from others, constantly getting in trouble with the authorities and shunned from a regular life. One day he makes the mistake of picking on Ike and his sister Mist – a mistake that, through a turn of events, ends up being the luckiest thing that’s ever happened to him. A rather unusual take on Soren’s background, only loosely based on actual canon.
